Shuffle Challenge Part 1.
Plasticities- Andrew Bird Ok. I’m going to be honest. The first couple things that came up on shuffle were random classical movements so I kept shuffling until something of significance came up. I guess I could say that any Andrew Bird is significant to be because it all makes me think of Jamie. I like this song in particular because it’s one of the Andrew Birds songs that has a modern classical kind of feel to it, which I love. First song to come on your shuffle that makes you happy; why does it make you happy? Easy Tonight- Five For Fighting This song reminds me of my dad and my childhood. When I’m away at school and super busy (like right now) it makes me sad when I think of my family but it only reminds me how much I miss them and how much I wish I was at home. Fifteenth song to come on your shuffle is now the theme that describes your life; what does it say? “It’s about time that I came clean with you Hmmm. This song is more like my life/ love life in HS. I guess some still applies but definitely not in such a downer kind of way. First song to come on your shuffle; why it is on your iPod, what significance does it hold?
All My Friends - LCD Soundsystem
I just love this song. I love how it builds and retreats. I love it’s simplicity. I love the words. I love how I don’t mind how it goes on forever. It just makes me happy.
First song to come on your shuffle that makes you sad; why does it make you sad?
Blue in the Face - Alkaline Trio
I’m no longer fine, I’m no longer running smooth
I thought that I found myself under something new
Just one more line I repeat over and over again
‘Till I’m blue in the face with a choking regret
Because I talk in circles ‘round you on my bed
Can’t say I blame you one bit when you kept it all inside
When you left that night
It’s about time that you got sick of me
No longer fun, and so far from interesting
I thought that I found me a cure for feeling old
Just one more line to keep me sleeping loudly and cold
In disgraced with a shameful regret
As I talk in tongues to myself in my bed
Can’t say I blame you one bit when you kept it all inside
When you left that night
And all that followed fell like mercury to hell
Somehow we lost our heads for the last time
And all that followed fell like mercury to hell
Somehow we lost our heads for the last time
And I don’t dream since I quit sleeping
And I haven’t slept since I met you
And you can’t breathe without coughing at daytime
And neither can I
So what do you say?
Your coffin, or mine?”
